Final Report and Request for Reimbursement Form
There are many programs available through ArtStart. Program descriptions and costs are good through 2026.
Spectacular Cardboard Cities
Take a whirlwind tour around the world by looking at some of the most famous monuments and buildings ever, and get inspired! From the Taj Mahal and the Alhambra to the Great Wall of China and even our own Foshay Tower in downtown Minneapolis, learn about how human beings have designed and structured their towns and cities for work, defense, worship, and play. Then, working with recycled materials, such as cardboard, paper, nylon, and plastic, create your own model of an imaginary city.
Rube Goldberg Marble Machine
Put on your most creative thinking cap! Design and make your own marble machine using a variety of tubes, papers, and unusual scraps. Assemble your invention using tape, glue, and wire. Just add a few marbles and watch the good times roll!
Inventor's Workshop
Follow in the footsteps of the great inventors and create your own invention from a variety of fun and unusual scraps. Assemble your invention using, tape, glue, and wire. Remember, it is about the idea!
Junk Paleontology
There is a new dinosaur on the scene -- the Junkosaurus -- whose fossilized bones have been found in landfills around the world! Work with an artist to create your own version of this reptile using a lot of imagination and junk.
Build Small
Imagine you live in a world in which the tallest building was 3 inches high. What would that mean about the size of your family, friends, and animals? Work with an artist to create your world in miniature using self-drying clay, paint, and other materials.
Space Engineers
Imagine you have been given the task to design a spaceship to transport 25 people to the Andromeda Galaxy, 2.5 million light-years from Earth. First, you must make a scale model of your idea. Join an artist and, using tubes, cones, plastic containers, and more, create your vision for this space vehicle.
