Technology Update 2022-2023

Please know that this edition of the newsletter has some videos that you may find useful however go back to previous editions to see similar support videos.

Hello all!

Hope you had a great summer! The TPS Technology Department is ready to assist you with your technology needs. Please know that we are following our ticket system closely and will respond as soon as we can. Please enter in technology requests, fob requests/issues, password reset requests (use guest login in the ticket system if you cannot log in to enter the ticket) and software issues that arise. Additionally it has come to our attention that some users are having trouble with accessing certain software. Software such as Learnzillion, ST Math, McGraw, etc are dependent on Schoolbrains enrollments and student sections. If enrollments do not exist for you or students are not part of the sections assigned to you, then access will be blocked by the vendor. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please also note that some software will take longer to roster so there may be a delay in gaining access. Also students new to your class typically take 24-48 hours to gain access to rostered applications.

For this week only -immediate password resets over the phone please call 508-844-5837. Please be patient with us as we have 2200 THS students and over 1200 staff members that could potentially be asking us for a reset. You may have to call back if the number is busy. We will do our best to get you using your technology as quickly as possible.

Please encourage your staff, colleagues and students to refer to these pages before entering in a ticket. Support documents have been created to assist users. This lives on your Classlink Dashboard.

Students can log in tickets with their Google account

And parents can log in guest tickets.

Google Classroom Naming Convention for Google Classroom-District wide

If you copy or create your own Google Classroom Course we ask that you please add your School Prefix (ex. THS, POL, etc) at the start of your Google Classroom name. Additionally, Your Name/Last Name should follow with course name and block or period for Middle and high school classes. This is important because administrators have the capability to add co-teachers or subs to your sections and they must be able to quickly identify your classes among the thousands of other sections in TPS. Please go back and rename your sections accordingly if you created your own sections already. Thank you in advance for your help.

EX. THS Mr. Bean College Prep 1 Algebra 1- C Block

Ex. POL Mrs. Bean Grade 4

Ex. FRI-Mrs Bean Grade 5 English -3rd Period

PLEASE KNOW THAT MCGRAW HILL, SAVAAS, ST MATH, ILLUSTRATIVE MATH, ACTIVELY LEARN, IM, EARLY BIRD, ETC and any other rostered online software that is specific to students and classrooms will take longer to be completely rostered for student and teacher use.
