I cannot believe how fast this past week went by. I had so much on my "to do list" that I did not get to. And I am sure your "to do list" is just as long as mine. And maybe you are feeling like you too, did not get to everything. After reflecting on my schedule and what I could have done differently I realized something that was obvious. My "to do list" was too long and unreasonable. It was made with all the best of intentions. But I was not being fair to myself and my family. So here are my two cents... (nothing profound of course!)
Do what you can. And when/if you can do more, do more.
This year is going to test us all. We hear the words "unprecedented and "new normal" more than ever because the world is so different. So breathe, rest, and keep showing up. Kids and colleagues need your energy and positive attitude now more than ever. Remember we are not shooting for perfection with lessons and our use of technology. Technology can be an amazing equalizer and tool that can enhance instruction when conditions are perfect. Newsflash alert...conditions are far from perfect. I remind myself everyday that I cannot control the internet, the hardware, or the online programming. I can control myself and how I react to daily challenges. So the next time you pour your heart and soul into creating an interactive lesson and something goes awry please give yourself grace. You deserve it!

Some of my favorite district purchased applications are: Peardeck, Formative, and Edpuzzle. Please see the videos and information to support your use of these applications. Please know that these tools were purchased because teacher feedback and usage from the spring favored these applications. Peardeck allows you make your remote lessons interactive. Edpuzzle allows you to create video assignments with questioning. And formative allows you to make pdfs usable by students and it can do so much more.
Did you know that TPS teachers have already created over 5,000 Peardeck lessons since September? Also over 5000 TPS students have used Peardeck this year.
If you would like live Peardeck webinars and training visit this Link: https://www.peardeck.com/learn-pear-deck
