Hello everyone!
This site was updated to support your technology needs while you navigate the use of online tools such as Google Classroom, Classlink, etc. The technology department continues to work remotely Monday through Friday during school hours to solve, troubleshoot, and maintain our information and technology infrastructure. As with in anything in the technology world please remember mistakes will happen. There will be technology glitches. Please reach out for support. We are in this together!
Stay strong and stay safe!
TPS Staff: You have 2 accounts for email. You have a tauntonschools.org account and a tauntonschools.net account. Your .net account is what you use to access Google and Google Classroom. Please know if you do not know how to login to either account or if your password expires please contact support@tauntonschools.org. Please provide the following security questions:
1.) First and last name as it is listed in School Brains
2.) Your Street address
3.) Phone number on file in School Brains
The information provided will be used for verification purposes only. We are implementing an added layer of security to prevent unauthorized password resets.

How to use Google Classroom-EdTech Classroom
All staff and students have a Classlink account. We recommend that students and staff gain familiarity with using Classlink. Staff H drive and Google drive files can be accessed through Classlink. Logging into classlink is identical to how you log into a school desktop. If you have never logged into Classlink we ask that you log in this week. The link is below and also on the TPS website. You can also download the Taunton Public Schools Classlink as an app on your phone, iPad, or tablet.
Logging into Classlink is easy. To gain access into Classlink you use the same username and password you use to log into a desktop computer. If you cannot access your H drive please email support@tauntonschools.org.
How to access your H Drive
Yes. Tauntonschools.net email has been turned on for all TPS students. Please know that students in grades K-7 are not familiar with searching for their emails as this was never turned on in the past for them. If you choose to communicate this way please know that you may have to direct them to Google Email.
Students sign into Google typically using their firstname.Lastname@tauntonschools.net. Some students do have a number after their lastname if there are more than one student with a similar name in the district. These students typically know this. However if they struggle with signing on they should email support@tauntonschools.org from another account. Their google password is: passwLASID#
Students sign in with: Firstname.Lastname and password: LASID#
Yes students can access Youtube on school issued chromebooks while at home. Please use your discretion.
This is absolutely possible. Students can complete a diagnostic assessment and then have questions provided based on their assessment progress. Or a teacher can modify their assigned skills. Please see the video below for directions.
The recommended application to use with staff/students is Google Meet. This is free to all in the tauntonschools.net domain. You can easily invite students through Google classroom and maintain that only TPS staff/students have access by following some safety guidelines. The use of Zoom is not supported by our technology department and there have been several instances of Zoom hacking in other districts. More guidance will be forthcoming for these types of interactions. Please know that you will not have the ability to record these sessions. Please keep in mind that technology equity and access must be maintained. For students who do not have a computer, a phone number and details of how to call into these sessions must be shared.
When calling parents you may be using *67 so that your number is blocked. However these families do not receive blocked calls. It is suggested that you use Google Meets to make these calls. See the video for directions.
There are many applications that can be found in Classlink that can support your enrichment. In addition to online textbooks and district pushed out applications all staff members can add additional applications/links to their Classlink Dashboard. The Classlink applications can vary by grade level, content area, etc. To see the resources that are available in our district please visit our public digital resource
Most resources in Classlink require you to enter your your login information. A password locker exists to save your usernames and password so that you will not have to continue to enter in your username and password over and over again. There are a few applications that do not require a password at all. These are applications that are rostered by the Technology department. Please attend a Classlink Virtual PD session to learn more. If you have any questions or concerns about applications that may not be in the portal please reach out to cblennau@tauntonschools.org.
