Chromebooks

Program Overview:  TPSS is a 1:1 district when it comes to devices in the classroom!

Intended Users: All TPSS Educators who have a roster of classes with students will have a district-issued device for use.  All TPSS students, grades K - 12 will have access to chromebooks.  Students in Grades K - 8 will use Chromebooks from a Classroom Cart while at school. Students in Grades 9 - 12 will each be issued a device to use at home and school. The high school student is responsible for the upkeep and the charging of the device daily.

Chromebooks need care and attention to function properly.  Make it a routine to check for updates, clear the cache, and reset settings to keep the device in working order. Teach this to your students as well.

🏫 Chromebook Carts in the Classroom

A Chromebook cart has been assigned to each classroom in our district.  Teachers will manage these Chromebooks to ensure devices are cared for and managed in a way that increases their longevity and desired conditions for usage. The procedures listed below will ensure the Chromebooks are in good working condition for assignments and, most importantly, assessments. Caring for them will make for smoother and less stressful testing environments.

✅ Chromebook Check-Up

Teachers should periodically check student Chromebooks to ensure that they are properly cared for. This will help to target Chromebooks which are in need of maintenance. A missing key on a keyboard can cause issues when it is time to take a test! Every piece needs to be in working order. Use the Chromebook Checklist (Google Sheet) below to help with this task.
