Unity in Diversity Month(s):
Unity in Diversity is Walt Whitman's new approach to what is formally known as International Day. Rather than celebrating our rich cultures on one day during the month of January, we would like to take the opportunity to celebrate our diversity for the remainder of the year.
This year, we are asking families to consider putting together a presententation consistent with the presentations found on our Culture of Care website. We have set aside designated days each month for a group of families to come into the building and present to the entire student population. Those interested in presenting can reach out to Mr. Snyder directly to develop a presentation and schedule a date. We feel there will be more value for our children if they are able to focus on one culture at a time! Be brave for your children and consider working with other families to develop a presentation. It is important that we learn about the people that make-up our community.
