Welcome Back Wolverines!

Dear Walt Whitman Elementary Families,

Welcome to an exciting new school year at Walt Whitman Elementary! I hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable summer, filled with special moments with loved ones. As we begin the 2025-2026 school year, we are happy to welcome back our returning students and extend a warm welcome to our new kindergartners and families who are new to our school community. We’re thrilled to have you as part of the Walt Whitman family!

This year, we remain committed to creating a caring, inclusive environment where every student can flourish both academically and socially. It's natural to feel excited or a bit nervous about new classrooms or classmates—these feelings are opportunities for growth and resilience. We’re here to support your child every step of the way as they adapt and thrive.

Please note that all class placements have been thoughtfully finalized. Students will stay in their assigned classrooms to ensure fairness and respect for the placement process and our other families. We ask for your understanding and encourage you to see this as a valuable chance for your child to develop flexibility and confidence in new situations.

Class placements will be visible on the Infinite Campus portal beginning the morning of August 25th. Please ensure your Infinite Campus account is accessible before the release date. If you need help with your account, detailed instructions are available at the bottom of this letter.

This year, important updates and information will be communicated through Parent Square (for more information, visit: Parent Square Info). Please continue to use the Wolverine Website to learn more about our school. The classroom teacher sections will be updated after the class placements go out on August 25th. 

Transportation details will be provided directly by our transportation department. Please be patient as updates are made frequently at the start of the school year.

Parents can drop off school supplies at the school on August 28th and 29th to help make the first day of school easier for their children. All supply lists are available on the PTA website at https://waltwhitmanpta.org/.

It is a privilege to educate your children and support their social, emotional, and academic growth. We are grateful to be part of this wonderful community and look forward to a year filled with learning, successes, and memorable moments.
