Video Camera Resources

What is it?

The video camera tinker time kit is designed to allow students to have a go with a video camera and to start improving some of their video skills. Year 4-6 students may also like to use processing applications to further enhance their videos.

A video camera might seem outdated with the ability to take videos on a smartphone, however the learning involved in videoing applies to both smartphones & stand alone video cameras. It also means you don't have to give students your phone to use.

What is in the kit? What do I need?

In the kit you'll find:

  • Video camera
  • Power adapter
  • USB cable
  • Tripod

You'll need to provide:

  • Space for students to take videos - our current cameras need to be plugged into power so have to be used inside
  • Props for students to use in videos if required
  • Another device to transfer images to - this could be a classroom Chromebook
  • You could set students up with a school WeVideo and/or Adobe Spark licence for students to use to edit video more information below
