Micro:bit Resources

What is it?

The BBC micro:bit is a pocket-sized computer that introduces you to how software and hardware work together. It has an LED light display, buttons, sensors and many input/output features that, when programmed, let it interact with you and your world.

What is in the kit? What do I need?

In the kit you'll find:

  • a Micro:bit

  • Alligator clips

  • Instruction card

  • Tinfoil

  • Battery holder

  • Battery charger

  • AAA batteries

  • USB cable

You'll need to provide:

  • Space for students to use the Micro:bit - this is an inside only device at this stage

  • A device for students to connect their Micro:bit to and to follow project and help files

  • Micro:bit can be programmed using Chromebooks, Windows and Mac laptops so students can use their own devices for this
