Makey Makey Resources

What is it?

A circuit board that connects to a computer and can be programmed to respond in different ways. It's a great way to look at how circuits work as students will need to complete the circuit to get their code to work. It's also an easy way to introduce coding for a physical purpose - for example coding what happens when you touch this part of my model?

What is in the kit? What do I need?

In the kit you'll find:

  • Makey Makey board
  • Makey Makey USB cable to connect from Makey Makey to the computer
  • Chromebook
  • Chromebook Charger
  • Aligator clips
  • Small connector wires
  • Tinfoil
  • Playdough
  • Smaller box for Makey makey, connector wires, aligator clips and smaller pieces of tinfoil

You'll need to provide:

  • Other maker items like cardboard, sellotape, hot glue etc.
  • A scratch account if students want to save their work - many students already have an account, if they don't have one you'll need to provide your email address as their 'parent/guardian email' in order for them to sign up correctly.
