Coding Grid Resources

What is it?

A large grid that can be used to help students exploring computer science concepts. The grid in the Tinker Time kit is small enough for students to use on a table or desk in the classroom and comes with a range of items that fit into the grid.

Teachers could draw or make a larger grid in the classroom or out on the courts to use 'humans' as the objects students are coding on the grid - like the video.

What is in the kit? What do I need?

In the kit you'll find:

  • Metal grid
  • Small toys
  • Coming soon Vocabulary cards with QR codes that read the cards to students
  • Coming Soon Challenge cards with QR codes that read the cards to the students

You'll need to provide:

  • A whiteboard & whiteboard marker for students to write their code on
  • Space for students to use the grid
  • A device to read the QR codes if you want students to listen to the challenges
