Does your child struggle with reading? According to Sousa (2017), "Because no areas of the brain are specialized for reading, it is probably the most difficult cognitive task we ask the young brain to undertake" (p.35). As parents and teachers, it is our duty to provide the appropriate reading strategies and tools for young readers so they can take on the challenge of solving unknown words independently.
