Scratchboard

Statement:  

A photo on my phone from this winter captured my attention. This picture of a pet not only reminds me of cool black and white artwork, but it was also a picture of my dog Additionally, its outstanding quality influenced my decision to use it as a reference image. 

I only had an 8.5" x 11" scratchboard and scratching tools to create this artwork.

I had to pick an original reference image to make this work of art. I selected the photo and then started removing the dried-up black ink to make my design.
