I decided to sketch this image of myself because it seemed simpler, and I liked how straightforward my face appeared. I have never been good at drawing faces and people so this was a challenge for me. The pencils used to create this work were 2H and 4B. To make this piece, I constructed a graph that was the same size on both my paper and my photo.
This procedure was new to me, and I wish I had learned it sooner since it would have made my previous work better in the past. I utilized the gird process that I just described, and I used it because it is a lot easier.
