Assemblage Sculpture AXE

We were to assemble a sculpture using the materials of our choosing for this assignment. I was more concerned with the design itself than I was with the material I chose. I wanted a paper for this. I intended my design to serve as a symbol and a practical utility at the same time. So I decided to make some sort of axe or tomahawk.

I utilized a lot of resources to complete this project. I used cardboard, masking tape, duct tape, and newspaper.

To start, I took lots of newsprint paper and crumpled it into forms, then taped these forms with masking tape. This created the structure of my sculpture. I wrapped this in a thick layer of duct tape on top of this. Then, I added a layer of tissue paper. Finally, I added the eyes, the 'crown,' and the feathers with paper.
