Artist Statement:

For these pieces, I drew myself, a corner of my living room, and my water bottle. I tried my best to make these pieces look as close to real life as possible. I chose to draw these images because I thought that they were a good place to start with trying a realistic artwork.

For materials, I used graphite pencils on drawing paper. I used graphite pencils because I think they're the best for sketching, especially when you start with lighter ones. I also feel that graphite pencils are good for realism.

To find my ideas for the perspective and still life drawings, I thought about what things would be interesting to draw and that I could see where my current skills are at. For my process, I could only look at the physical object, and not use references or my imagination. I would constantly check what I was drawing to make sure that they were matched up the best that I could. Overall, I hoped to create a realistic sketch that people can understand.
