For this proyect we were asked to grab some candy and arrange it any way we wanted to and glue it in with a hot glue gun. Then, we were meant to enlarge it and draw what we see. In this proyects we were focusing on shadows and how to use the materials correctly in order to look 3d. First I started off by sketching the candy and making sure it looked proportional. Once it looked fine, I started colouring it in. I filled in every candy with its coreesponding color, using the lightest color. Then, i used darker tones for the shading. I decided that my light was in the top left corner so my shadows are going right.
I used color pencils, oil pastels and pencil to make this. It was hard sometimes because with the color pencils I had to press really hard to make sure no white was showing and to make the color brighter and more realistic. I used oil pastels to help with the darker shading. We were not allowed to use black for shading, instead we were supposed to use multiple layers nad colors to make the illusion. I found that some colors are easier to work with than others. For example, yellow and green were very easy to blend and work with but I had a hard time with the pink as it wouldn't go darker and the colors on top wouldn't show, and in my opinion thats the worst one in the drawing. It was hard to do the labels too because it was easy to draw with pencil but when I had to colour in it was too small and i couldn't do it properly, but I tried my best and I think it turned out ok. 😊
