Solve a World Problem

Our group chose that the world problem we wanted to solve was the lack of and lack of quantity of education in a lot of the world. Hundreds of millions of people are illiterate and don't have higher than a grade school education. The way we chose to fix this was through an app we developed that we called GES, or Global Education System. Solving a World Problem

Engineering and Design Cycle: Our group went through the engineering and design cycle. This means we brainstormed ideas, researched them, narrowed our solutions down, made a prototype, then developed our final solution. Some ideas we thought of for our solutions were drones delivering packages, VR learning though headsets, robot teachers, and more. We eventually chose an online app with curriculum for 6th-12th grade learning. We then researched how efficient this teaching strategy would be and all the catches that come with online learning. We then made an app prototype using a software called proto.io. Then we organized all of our research and ideas into one slideshow and added our ideas onto the slide as we formulated our app presentation.

Reflection: Two things I did well this project were being confident with new ideas, and having a good work ethic. I was always sharing new ideas and ways we could go about this project and I helped pioneer the idea of the app we decided to choose as our solution. I also worked very efficiently this project. There wasn't a minute during class where I was distracted or slacking off. This makes me very proud of my and my team mates work. Two things I can do better is be more responsive to new ideas, and being more idealistic. At times I felt as if I came off as too domineering and that may have affected our project. Also I think we may have looked at our problem to practically and it may have influenced the actions we took to include in our project.
