Tutorial/Seminar type teaching (classes of 30 students)
Lab classes (depending on the course)
Unique supervision system= Small groups. One academic with 1-3 students (you meet every week). You prepare something in advance and you bring it to discuss with the academic. It provides the opportunity to ask questions.
Workload
3x8 week terms (3 terms per year).
Each academic year at The University of Oxford is divided in to three terms:
* Michaelmas term from October to December
* Hilary term from January to March
* Trinity term from April to June
Increased pace and volume of work expected (greater that at school)
Emphasis on independent/self-directed study
Average work-load 42-46 hours per week
Reading/research/revision during the vacations (you should be doing internships during the long vacation)
