The procedures of teaching is consist of opening activities, main activities, and closing activities. The details of teaching procedures:
Opening Activities

Teacher let few students giving the summary of the lesson.
Teacher remind students to study for the next meeting, closing the lesson.
Time management is quite a challenge because the time is just one hour, so maximize the learning is important. The time management during my lesson:
Opening Activities (open the class, praying, check the attendance, review the materials, tell the lesson objectives) - 5 minutes.
Main Activities (motivation, group activity, class discussion, case study, assignment) - 50 minutes. The details:
Motivation - 5 minutes
Group Activity - 10 minutes
Class Discussion - 25 minutes
Case Study - 5 minutes
Assignment - 5 minutes
Closing Activities (summary, questions and answers, final reminder) - 5 minutes.
In the main activities part, there are several different activities with different organization. There is individual work and group work. For the individual work of students, it's on motivation, case study, and assignment. Meanwhile, the group work needed on group activity and class discussion. The activity during the lesson more into teamwork discussion, made the students active during the learning, and the lesson become students-centered.
I taught Grade 7 - Patriotism which have 45 students. It's quite a challenge to keep a look to every students during the lesson, so I manage the several method
At the first stage of lesson, when opening and motivation, students sit down at their own seat. The focus of the class is on me that standing in front of class, explain to them about the materials that we will learn and giving them questions to answer.
When the group activity conducted, I let them sit according to their group. Some of them is not sit on the seat, but they sit on the floor. I let them to do it to made them more comfortable to work and discuss with their friend during the group activity. I let them a bit noisy during this part, as long as they are noisy because working on their group. If there are problem or they are too noisy, I approach them for each group, asking if there is something wrong during the discussion.
During the class discussion, I asking them to sit on the seat depending on their group. It's easier to manage them because I can identify them based on their group. After the class discussion, they still on the same seat to do the case study and assignment. The position same until the class ended.

During the stay, the struggle is not that big. It's because the language barrier is not become the problem since the lesson in EHS taught in English and the students can understand the lesson clearly. But, during co-teaching assistantship with Jean in Grade 7 - Patriotism, there are two main problem during the lesson: the lack of time and the class energy that very active.
The Lack of Time
The lack of time happened during co-teaching assistantship due to the time for one subject is just 60 minutes, including opening and closing. During my co-teaching assistantship, there are a lot of work to due during the group activity that's not necessary like cutting the print-out learning media, and other activity that spend a lot of time.
The case on my co-teaching assistantship make me evaluate what is necessary and unnecessary for the students during the lesson. During my grand demonstration, I avoid the time lacking with just made the students conduct the necessary activities during the lesson. I already prepare the learning media can fully utilize before the learning, so the students can focus on their lesson. They don't need to prepare the media for their own selves except for the book.
The other strategy that be use is using the timer. The timer being set so the students wouldn't overdue the activities. It also effective to give the students reminder during their group activities.
But, in the meaning of time, it's still flexible during my grand demo. The time for group discussion is reduced 3 minutes because they finish their worksheet earlier than I expected. The remaining time utilized for the assessment because the students asking for 5 minutes time more, but I gave them 3 minutes left instead.
At the end, the lesson finished on time.
The Big Energy of the Students
The each students or class having their own characteristic, so are the Grade 7 - Patriotism that also having different characteristic compared to the other. They having more energy compared to the other class. It can be beneficial if the teacher can take advantage of it. But without awareness from the teacher, the class can turn into a mess.
To overcome the case, I tend to use loud voice during the lesson, but not until bluff the students. I also design the lesson more into discussion (group discussion and class discussion) so they can channel their energy into presentation, discussion, and sharing their opinion. I also told them to raise their hands first before giving answer, so the class managed well and not become noisy.
