The UST Junior High School (UST JHS) is a high school for Grade 7-10. It located at 1/F Benavides Building, UST, España Boulevard, Sampaloc, Manila. The building is still inside the UST. The JHS having Motto "Committed to truth; enkindled by charity". To become the students of JHS, it can be through regular admission or through scholarships.
The UST Junior High School envisions itself as a leading Junior High School in the country, committed to the holistic formation of its students and the cultivation of their potentials.
The mission of the UST Junior High School is to prepare students for Senior High School, to form them in faith, and to mold them as true Thomasians competent, committed and compassionate, dedicated to serve God, the nation and the global community.
UST JHS already supported with good facilities, such as:
Classroom with great facilities, such as individual desk, Smart TV, Air Conditioner, Wide Whiteboard, and other facilities.
Wide library that having many collections.
Laboratory that supporting the learning.
Principal and teacher room.
The teaching system in JHS is based on K to 12 basic curriculum. The duration of each subject is one hour for one meeting. The learning model that frequently used especially in science class is Learning Cycle 7E that the syntax are Elicit, Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate, and Extent. The learning is integrated with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Thomasian Graduated Attributes SEAL.
Before the lesson start, the students pray together. It continued with the teacher checking the students' presence. After checking that, the teacher will continue with apperception that made the students recall their memories of their previous lesson. Then, they continue to the next material.
The class of JHS is really talkative. Teacher teach with a loud voice and pay attention to all of the students. The students also so excited and focus with the lesson. When the teacher asking the questions, there are few students that want to answer it and raise their hands. The teacher also giving them appreciation for their bravery to answer with a chip.
