ABOUT SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

UST Senior High School established since 2016, the place for grade 11-12 to study and learnt. It located across the main building of UST, at the Pier Giorgio Frassati, O.P. Building. UST SHS having 6 strands that can be choose by the students to learnt, that are:

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)
Accountancy and Business Management
Health Allied
Humanities and Social Sciences
Music, Arts, and Design
Physical Education and Sports

VISION

Envisions itself at the forefront of educational innovations that empower learners to take on the challenge of tertiary education and to develop life skills and the skills needed for scholarly pursuits, such as critical thinking and discernment skills, research skills, communication and collaborative skills, and leadership skills.

MISSION

Committed to forming learners to become creative problem-solvers, catalysts of change, productive citizens of the country, and zealous witnesses of the Catholic faith.

academic support system

UST SHS building is really big. It has 22 floors and 12 elevators that supporting the mobility. The students that schooled there is more than 6000 students. The fact that UST SHS is the biggest Senior High School that I ever visited.

UST SHS having really great academic support systems, such as:

Wide classroom that enough for the students with great facilities such as individual desk, air conditioner, smart TV, and whiteboard.
Cozy library that having two floors. It's quite big and students can do various activities there, such as study, resting, reading a book, doing group project, and others.
Various laboratory that supporting the practice on the lesson. The laboratory already qualified with international standard, ISO 2018, looking at the safety and facilities. There are several safety support such as shower, sink, separated bin, and others. The laboratory also facilitated with the laboratory information.
Room for the principal and teacher.
Cafe inside the building that having various menu to choose, so students will not hungry if their lesson until evening.

teaching method

The teaching in the SHS already students-centered. Meanwhile, for the laboratory activities, students really active during the lesson. The teacher just need to explain the procedures and keeping eye on them, meanwhile the students managing the practicum.

The lesson in SHS held both offline and online. The online class held due to the typhoon, made the students cannot attend on the school. Besides the typhoon, the activities mostly held with offline class.
