This course is meant to embed students with the skills of taking off, bill of quantities preparation for building and civil engineering works as long as principles of work estimation in order to produce the total cost of a project.
1) Evaluate bill of quantities for major elements of building and civil engineering works in accordance with Malaysian Civil Engineering Standard Methods of Measurement (myCESMM).
2) Manage cost estimation using appropriate technique and engineering tools with an awareness of the limitation.
3) Justify the need of cost estimate for a selected set of structure elements and types of contract with the ability to engage in independent updating in the context of specialized technical knowledge.
