Why Study BTEC L1/2 Tech Award Enterprise?
Business and Enterprise are everywhere – they make the world go round. Everyday millions of people engage with business, whether that be as a business owner, a customer, employee, or supplier. Studying Enterprise allows you to develop a real knowledge and understanding of how all types and sizes of business organisations work, and develop transferable skills that improve employability, with career options in marketing, finance, law, retail and junior managerial positions.
This subject will equip you with decision-making skills and allow you to develop the ability to quickly and efficiently make sensible, logical and informed decisions.
You will develop numeracy skills in Enterprise as you study investment, funding and how to use and interpret financial data.
You will learn to be organised and to plan ahead. Learning how to generate marketable ideas, access resources and develop business plans all require a great deal of organisation.
Problem solving and presentation skills are developed in those who study business – looking at business problems and coming up with solutions.
This course is an excellent route for those wishing to take the Level 3 Certificate in Business Studies, or Level 3 Certificate in Financial Studies in Sixth Form, or for those who would like an understanding of how to set up and manage your own business, or work for a business when you leave school.

BTEC Tech Award in Enterprise is assessed by 2 portfolio components and one external examination.
Component 1 - Exploring Enterprises
Coursework worth 30% of total grade
Component 2 - Planning for and Pitching an Enterprise
Coursework worth 30% of total grade
Component 3 - Promotion and Finance for Enterprise
Exam worth 40% of total grade
What’s is this qualification worth?
BTEC Tech Award Enterprise is equivalent to a GCSE. This will allow you to apply to colleges and sixth-forms in the future. It is awarded as a Level 1 Pass/Merit or Level 2 Pass, Merit, Distinction or Distinction*.
Level 2 Distinction * (D*) = 8/9 at GCSE
Level 2 Distinction (D) = 7/8 at GCSE
Level 2 Merit (M) = 5/6 at GCSE
Level 2 Pass (P) = 4/5 at GCSE
