Selective Insurance Company has announced a change in its process for re-underwriting in-force homeowners' policies. Previously, they used questionnaires to gather information about insured properties. Based on feedback, they are moving to a more streamlined approach using self-inspection tools provided by Mueller Reports.
Key Changes
Moving Away from Questionnaires: Selective will no longer send out questionnaires to insureds. This change is in response to feedback received from agency partners.
Mandatory Self-Inspections: Instead of questionnaires, insureds will be required to complete a self-inspection of their property using a tool provided by Mueller Reports. These inspections are mandatory.
Hazardous Conditions: Selective will review the self-inspection reports to identify any potentially hazardous conditions.
Communication:
Insureds will be notified of any hazardous conditions that require attention.
Agencies will be informed of any hazardous conditions that affect insurability, along with the requirements needed to maintain coverage.

Impact on Agencies
Courtesy Calls: Agencies will receive courtesy calls if Selective is unable to reach insureds to schedule the self-inspection.
No Questionnaires: You will no longer need to assist clients with filling out questionnaires.
Focus on Self-Inspection Support: Your role will shift to supporting insureds through the self-inspection process and ensuring they understand the importance of completing it.
