Leader: We Adore You, O Christ, and we praise You,
All: Because by Your Holy Cross You have redeemed the world.
In this passage, Jesus, Mary’s only Son, had died and was laid in a tomb by Joseph of Arimathea and his friend Nicodemus. This was the final dagger that struck Mary’s heart and it was also the most painful one. Mary had to watch her Son suffer, die, and be buried because He wanted to save us from our sins.
Have you ever thought about how your sins affect everyone around you? Imagine how Mary felt when her only Son Jesus died.
Let us pray,
God, please help us to think before we act, especially in the face of temptation. May we choose virtue like a saint when sin strikes our heart.
We ask this through Christ, our Lord, Amen.
