Leader: We Adore You, O Christ, and we praise You,
All: Because by Your Holy Cross You have redeemed the world.
Jesus continued walking up the hill to be crucified. Then, Jesus fell for the second time. Jesus fell under the burden of every evil we have ever committed, but despite the pain, He got up again and continued walking. He picked up the Cross and kept up the journey to Calvary. With the weight of our sins on His back, we can only imagine how it felt in that moment. Even under the weight of everything all at once, He still persevered for us and our futures out of the pure love in His heart.
What is a time you have fallen under the weight of sin, and couldn’t find how to come back to God? Today, we can ask God to help us, especially through the Sacrament of Confession, when we fall under our own sins and can’t get back up on our own.
Let us pray,
Dear Jesus, sometimes it’s hard for us to escape the habit of sin. We ask that You may help us to climb back from evil and rise to Heaven. Even if sometimes we can’t see our own sins, help us to see past the veil of evil, take up our own cross, and walk back to You.
We ask this through Christ, our Lord, Amen.
