Grade 6-8

How can we love others as Jesus loves us?

Jesus washes the disciples' feet to show them a humble act of service. We are called to serve each other. What are some ways you can perform small acts of service today?

Transform Your Cross into a Crown

Fr. Mike discusses the idea of taking up our crosses, the trap of believing in that "harder is holier," and why saying YES to the things we don't choose can bring a sense of freedom.

Are you ready to take up your cross?

Following Jesus is easy when life is running smoothly, but our faith is tested during times of difficuly and trials. Are you willing to take up your cross?

I AM...

Jesus chose to come and live among us, to become one of us even though He didn't have to.

In John's gospel, Jesus shares seven messages to help us understand who He is. Use this link to learn more about when Jesus said, "I Am".

Write seven of your own "I Am" statements, reflecting on the amazing person God has created you to be.

Post these statements somewhere you will see them as God's reminder of His love for you.

Gifts and Talents

God creates us in His image - to be kind, to be considerate, to be full of love. We show these traits in the many gifts and talents He created in us so that we may be a reflection of His love to others. How do you use your gifts and talents to honor God?

Washing Feet

Show the love of God by sharing an act of service. Family members can take turns washing each others' feet as Jesus washed the feet of his disciples.

Praise Poster

Work together to decorate a poster with a special phrase or verse. Hang your poster in a window for others to see. Your words can offer encouragement and praise.

Reflection Time

Fr. Mike makes a great connection to help us better understand the phrase, "Carry Your Cross"; something we didn't choose but will take on because it's what we should do.

We didn't choose the current events in which we live. Through prayer and calling on God to lead us, we can find the strength to get through this time, even though it is not something we agreed to or asked for. Write a prayer to yourself, a quick letter, reminding yourself that You Are Loved and that with Christ beside you, anything is possible. Remember, turn IMPOSSIBLE into I'M POSSIBLE - as in I Am Possible with God.
