For this assessment you will be creating a digital media outcome for some of you this will be an animation and for others a computer game.
For details about the assessment visit the assessment documentation page. This section will help guide you through the steps you need to do to ensure you have the evidence for the standard.
This assessment follows on from AS91877 the proposal and AS91878 the design- It assumes you have a working set of design drawings that you will use to construct your outcome. If you do not have any design concepts you should see your teacher who has a working concept you can use.
Throughout the build process you should be able to demonstrate how you have improved your game. The keyword being throughout, this means that I am looking at more than just one or two stages of development.
for example :
you may have created a maze game, but when testing it you realise it is too easy when the whole maze can be seen. You could make it more challenging by using the view tool in gamemaker so the player can only see a small portion of the game.
in your animation the truck movment is not very realistic, but by using the movie in a movie technique you can make the wheels appear to be rotating as the truck is moving.
in your animation the flow of the scene is very linear it goes from one scene to the next. By using camera movment you can add movement to the scene and make it more interesting to your viewer.
Your blog would be a good place for evidence of this. Reflect on how your game is developing and what you can do to to improve the quality of the game. Ask others to test your game/view your animation for you and give you feedback.
Discuss how you have applied good design principles:
in your animation how have you used the key desing principles you researched at the beginning of the project.
in your game you have positioned game elements on the screen to make them easy to read as you play, you have ensured that the contrast between the font and background is sufficient to make it easy to read.
