Stern's Transition to Brightspace
NYU Classes was retired on September 29th, 2023
All NYU Classes courses from Winter 2019 through Fall 2021 were automatically migrated to NYU Brightspace as reference sites.
Some important things to note:
Student data and assignment submissions were not migrated to NYU Brightspace reference sites.
NYU Classes data that was not migrated to Brightspace is archived and may be accessible upon request. To do so, please email learning.science@stern.nyu.edu for help submitting a data request, or sign up for an LSL Office Hours consultation to discuss your needs with us.
When did NYU transition to Brightspace?
Fall 2021
As of Fall 2021, all courses at NYU are taught in Brightspace. If you need to reuse course content that was taught in NYU Classes, keep reading!
Reusing content from NYU Classes in Brightspace
Most NYU Classes content was automatically moved to Brightspace
NYU IT moved all NYU Classes content from 2019-2021 into Brightspace “Reference Sites.” You can copy content from these Brightsapce reference sites into your current course site.
Reuse, or recreate?
Warning! Not all types of course content migrated well from NYU Classes to Brightspace. Sometimes, it would be better to build directly in Brightspace rather than use migrated course materials. Some lesser-used tools in NYU Classes were not migrated because they were not compatible with a corresponding Brightspace tool.
