This is a book discussion group that gathers the first Thursday of the month in Jericho at 6:30 pm to talk about a particular book. March 4 – Finding Chika by Mitch Albom

This is the author’s second memoir and is a tribute to Chika, an orphaned Haitian girl whom he and his wife cared for from ages 5-7, when she died from a brain tumor.

April 8 – 61 Minutes to a Miracle by Venerable Fulton J. Sheen

Discover why the parents, and others attribute the healing of their young son to the Venerable Fulton J. Sheen.

May 6 – A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks

A story of looking back on your life and thinking maybe you would have liked to change some things, perhaps take away the sorrow, but wondered if that would have taken away all of the joy.

June 3 – The Universal Christ by Richard Rohr

This explores what Christ really means in all things and people. (We will be discussing just one chapter-tbd)

July 8 – It’s Not Supposed to be this Way by Lysa TerKeurst

She shares her story of how she overcame great pain through a radical encounter with God.

August 5 - The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes

Based on the true story of “The Pack Horse Library Initiative”. Characters travel into the remote Kentucky mountains delivering learning to the most isolated.

Sept. 2 – My Grandmother’s Hands by Resmaa Menakem

This book gives activities to help heal the racial trauma that lives in our bodies (not necessarily our minds). Step by step healing process based on the latest neuroscience and somatic healing methods.

Oct. 7 – Five Years in Heaven by John Schlimm

What is heaven, what is earth, this is a true story of a young man’s journey to find hope and purpose with the help of an unlikely teacher.
