Hello, and welcome to the new Viking Voice! We are so excited about this restructuring of the former Monday Memo, and look forward to the changes in this St. Albert Parish School communication.
As mentioned in previous summer letters, we have had many updates and changes over the summer.
We are welcoming several new staff/faculty members: Ken O’Brien (technology director), Robyn Melton (second grade teacher), Bryce Barringer (second grade teacher), Jordan Stewart (fifth grade teacher), Glenn King (sixth grade teacher), Cori Carter (eighth grade teacher), Lucy Lejong (KC Assistant), Paula Knopf (4th Grade Assistant), Edith Crespo (KA Assistant), Barbara McCallum (5-8 Grade Assistant)
We have several safety updates: The Lyndon/St. Matthews mayor and Chief of Police toured our campus, deadlock reinforcement locks were installed on all classroom doors, and blinds were installed on all classroom doors.
Building updates: The cafeteria has been remodeled! Thank you to the PTO Gala and all of your donations and support. Please stop by to see the beautiful changes! Mrs. Wolz’s first grade classroom has expanded. The wall between the classroom and the old Learning Coordinator’s office has been removed to expand the classroom. Mrs. French, our new Learning Coordinator, will be located in the old counselor’s office. Mrs. O’Keefe, our additional Assistant Principal and Mrs. Short will now have offices in the Jr. High wing.
Whew! It’s been a busy summer!
We are so excited to be welcoming Jonathan Chiaramonte to St. Albert to welcome parents to the 2023-2024 school year on Monday, August 7, and speak to staff and faculty on Tuesday, August 8. Jonathan is a national speaker that many of our teachers have heard speak at “Get Your Teach On”. They were so impressed with him, loved his message, and wanted to share him with our St. Albert School community.
With all of that information, I can’t tell you how excited I am for the 2023-2024 school year! I know this is going to be the best school year yet, and I couldn’t be happier to be welcoming you back. Being a part of your child’s education is an honor and I know that together, we are going to do an excellent job in providing the best Catholic Education possible for them.
Let’s celebrate the start to the 2023-2024 school year!
Psalm 16:11: “You teach me the way of life. In your presence is total celebration. Beautiful things are always in your right hand.”

2024/2025 Application Period For Current Families Adding a New Sibling
If you are a current school family that will be adding a new sibling in preschool-6th grade for the 2024/2025 school year, you will need to apply between August 15-31, 2023. The new 2024/2025 application and instructions can be found HERE.
Applications will be numbered according to the date received in the school office. It is critical that we know how many new siblings will be added before we start accepting applications from external applicants. We cannot guarantee enrollment if your child’s application is received after August 31, 2023. Late applications will be considered in the general pool below.
Since we get asked this every year by many parents...
If your child is currently enrolled in the school and is advancing to the next grade level next year, you DO NOT need to apply again. Once your child is in the school, we will roll over their enrollment each year. The information above only pertains to families that are adding a brand new sibling to the school.
From your 23/24 PTO Executive Board:
We hope you and your family are having a wonderful summer! Time flies when you’re having fun so we have been hard at work over the summer gearing up for a great 23/24 school year. We need your help to make sure the PTO is able to offer all of the great programs and fundraising support for our students and school that we have enjoyed as a community in the past.
As you know, our student body has grown, but unfortunately, parent involvement in the PTO has not grown at the same rate. We often see the same families stepping up time and again to plan events, volunteer and attend meetings. Many hands make lighter work, and we need more hands this year! It’s a great way to meet other families and build community at St. Albert. Please view our open PTO chair positions below and let us know if you are interested in taking on one of these positions!
