Week Seven: Time To Reflect
We have learned a great deal through Wellbeing Thursdays.
The focus has been on how we can live a happier life.....and we've learned that it takes work. We've learned that we have the power to make it happen. We've learned that it is ok, to be not ok sometimes. We've learned how important it is to talk to someone at these times.
We learned about Mindfulness. The video above talks about what a school in New Zealand believes Mindfulness is.
I want to know what St. Agatha's students know and have learned.
The two questions I have:
What is gratitude? (Wellbeing Thursday Week One might help) Why is it important?
What is empathy? (Wellbeing Thursday Week two might help) Why is it important?
I know many year levels have been learning about Catholic Social Teaching, so bonus points for anyone that can make a link between these and gratitude and empathy. I have put a video in about Catholic Social Teaching to find out more about this.....probably suited to middle and upper students.
If you feel brave, share your answers with me (psharp@stacbourne.catholic.edu.au). It can be in a video, in a poster, or in writing. I will create a video for our school from there. Remember to get your parents permission if sharing a video.
*Reflection is a critical part of learning, as it assists us to go deeper and retain what we learn.
Below are some samples of what we sent through about how to be happier!
1Q decided to take on a Joke Challenge from last week, here are a couple zingers! Comedy is very difficult, so well done to them for being brave and having a go.

Special Cooking Segment!
Cooking with Mrs Nelson
Father's Day Scrambled Eggs.
Follow along with this recipe and make dad's day. You can substitute some of these ingredients for dad's favourites.
Remember to get an adult to help you.....but you might make them a special dish too!
Cooking With Mrs Nelson- MAC N CHEESE!
The ingredient list for this was in last week's Wellbeing Thursday.
Remember to get an adult to help you!
This is a favourite dish in America, and is great for the cool evenings.
Remember, you could turn this into a writing activity by writing the method.
You could also become food critic and write a review....but remember, you are probably judging your own cooking, so be kind to yourself!
Physical Education in the Home
The three videos below provide excellent skill demonstrations that you can work on at home.
The first skill is throwing.
The second skill is catching, with some really good learning about crossing the mid line to develop co-ordination.
The third is a focus on agility.
All the sessions can be done in the home and get our skills up before we can enjoy games outside again!
The Solution from last week's challenge with Mrs Notaro.
