At St. Agatha's , we believe that all students are able to learn.
We understand that all students have different needs. We endeavour to provide all students with what they need to maximise their learning.
Some of our students qualify for additional support under the National Consistent Collection of Data (www.nccd.gov.au) which provides additional funding based on the adjustments required for schools to provide these supports.
During remote schooling, some of these supports have to cease, but many can continue. We will be doing all we can to cater for students requiring extra support but it will require a partnership with our families.
Mrs Donohue (bdonohue@stacbourne.catholic.edu.au) who we welcome back from maternity leave, will be managing this process. She will be contacting many families that we have Student Support Group Meetings for and liaising with the teachers to provide support where possible. The first point of call for all families should be your child's teacher, but please contact Bridie if you require further support.
The government have provided advice to support parents with remote learning, which can be found by clicking the two links below.

AUSPELD, an organisation specialising in support for students with learning difficulties is below.
It is important to understand that while Remote Learning, we can become very concerned that our children don't know something or can't do particular tasks. This is normal. This is education. We must move students out of their comfort zone to explore new ideas.
This presents a challenge but will also allow real learning to occur. If we allow children to give up when it's a bit difficult or if we do it for them, their progression in learning will not be as strong; it's a fine balance. However, if you have any concerns about your child's learning, please contact your child's teacher and begin a conversation; we will work with you.
