ST STEPHEN'S NAMED IN TOP 100 SCHOOLS IN THE COUNTRY BY THE TIMES NEWSPAPER

On the whole we are a modest bunch at St Stephen's C of E Primary School, but please forgive us if we blow our own trumpet just this once ... we are absolutely thrilled to have been named in the top 100 Primary Schools in the country. This is testament to the stupendous work of our lovely staff. We always say they are a bit special, but they have proved in this most difficult of years that they are marvellous - key workers beyond measure! Reaching such high standards is made possible by them and our wondrous children, fabulous governors, amazing FOSS PTA and the best parents and carers ever! End of boast ...

PASSPORT TO FITNESS WITH MR DOWNES

Get fit for winter with your very own Daily Mile Sporting Passport from Mr Downes! All you have to do is get a passport and map from Mr Downes and earn stickers to reach your destinations. You can get one for parents too, but children, please make sure you don't let them get more stickers than you! The honour of St Stephens is at stake and we are relying on you. The best of luck to you!

St. Stephen's Virtual Open Event - Monday, November 30th - 11am

At this time of year, we usually warmly welcome parents through our doors, to show off our school, present our staff and proudly introduce our children. However, with things as they are, we will instead be holding a Virtual Open Event on Monday, November 30th.

We hope you will join us via the school website at 11am to experience our school virtually.

We'll be unveiling our short film so you can meet our staff, children and parents - this will also offer you the opportunity to look around the school - with a sneak peek into our lessons.

You will be encouraged to look at our curriculum overviews and will be able to learn more about how your children would spend their time here at St. Stephen's.

There will also be a ‘frequently asked questions’ section and we would like to invite prospective parents to use this contact form to get in touch with any questions you may have regarding our school and the admissions process.

We are sorry we can't extend the full St. Stephen's experience to you in person at this time, but we remain hopeful that we will be able to welcome you through our doors, at some point in the not too distant future.

FOSS MUFTI DAY RAISES £2,000 FOR CHILDREN IN NEED

We are totally overwhelmed by the generosity of our parents and children who have raised an astonishing £2,000 from our Children in Need Mufti day. This is a staggering amount and is done to the kindness and generosity of our wonderful school community. You never fail to amaze us! Thank you for donating to this worthwhile charity.

ST STEPHEN'S SIGNS UP FOR THE SPARK BOOK AWARDS

Along with 68 other Kingston and Richmond schools, we have signed up for the inaugural Spark! Kingston and Richmond Children's Book Awards. Authors and publishers have been invited to recommend books suitable for three age groups - 4-7, 7-9 and 9-11. After shortlisting, children in participating schools will get to decide which three books will be awarded the first ever Spark! Awards. Pupils will have from January to May to read the books and decide on their favourites. Spark! will publish suggested activities, approaches and resources for using the books in classrooms or with groups of pupils.

As well as getting a set of the shortlisted books to read and online access to at least one author event, we will have the opportunity to purchase further copies of the books at a 30 per cent discount.

Alongside the awards, Spark! has also set up a JustGiving fund to enable additional copies of the shortlisted books to be bought for local disadvantaged pupils. If you would like to donate to this worthwhile cause, click on the JustGiving link above.

We will keep you posted on our progress with this exciting adventure.
