Come for the Run, Stay for the Fun!

For the 40th year, our very own Ed Foundation is hosting the Run for Education on Sunday, October 8, 2023.

This fun day of family activities offers something for everyone: serious runners, casual walkers, parents and caregivers pushing strollers, adults and children alike. Come for The Run and Stay for the Fun with live bands, kids’ zone, school choirs, a 360 booth, food, refreshing drinks, and more to celebrate Excellence in Education in SRVUSD!

The Run for Education is a tradition in the San Ramon Valley spanning 40 years and is the primary fundraising activity for SRVEF. This community event brings together participants, volunteers and spectators from all 35 San Ramon Valley Unified School District schools, representing the communities of Alamo, Danville, and San Ramon. “We are thrilled to be hosting this amazing event again this year. Not only is it an opportunity to connect with other families but it’s also a fun way to come together as a community to support the schools and educators that make our district and our community a great place to live,” shared SRVEF Executive Director Vanessa Berastain. The money raised goes right back to support our students and staff through STEAM programs, professional learning, and individual teacher and district-level grants.

Be sure to register early before the price increases on September 15th. Events include a Mini Run for the youngest participants (ages 2-6), a Friendship Run for participants with special needs, and a 5K or 10K for those who would like a casual walk or a more rigorous run. T-shirts and a souvenir medal are included in the cost of registration for each of these events. For those who may opt for an alternative way to support the effort, a virtual run is also an option. The festivities begin at 8:00 am and run through 2:00 pm.
