Comprehension Questions:
Where do apple trees come from? (They grew from an apple seed.)
How does a seed go from an apple to growing into the ground? (An apple seed might fall to the ground. The wind blows leaves or soil over the seeds. The seed sinks into the soil. In the spring, the weather gets warm and the seed begins to grow.)
What are the parts of an apple tree? (apples, branches, leaves, and trunk.)
What do tree roots do? (Roots hold the tree in the ground by keeping the wind from blowing the tree down. They also keep the rain from washing it away. They also carry water from the ground up into the trunk of the tree.)
Why does tree need water? (Water helps it grow and it helps it make food..)
How does water get to the leaves? (The water goes to the trunk, then up to the branches, and then to the leaves.)
How does a tree change from the fall to the winter? (The tree has lost all of its leaves. In the winter, the tree looks dead.)

Draw a picture of a dog on a piece of paper. Talk to a person about your drawing by telling them about the dog and a trick they dog has learned to do. Make sure to tell details that describe the dog. Write a story describing the dog and the trick it can do.
Make sure you use your three important things in your sentence (Capital letter at beginning of the sentence, finger spaces between words, and an ending mark at the end of each sentence.)
