Goodbye February, hello March!. We are pleased to welcome Mehrnosh to our environment. Her extensive experience is a valuable addition to our team. Additionally, we are happy to welcome Delaram and Farham to our daycare family, and we sincerely bid farewell to Sage and Zion. We wish them all the best in their new adventures. In February, we focused on enhancing our literacy skills by creating thank-you cards for our guest readers, whom we truly enjoyed hosting. We would like to thank parents, family members, and former staff who joined us for reading sessions. We also welcomed Osborne Village Biz. Thank you, Lynne, for sharing your favorite books with us.

Michael Redhead-Champagne also shared his book We Need Everyone with us. We value everyone’s participation, and we were especially grateful to have Al Simmons join us, sharing stories and laughter, which was a truly enjoyable experience. We are thankful to our special guest Minister of Education and Early Childhood Learning, Tracy Schmidt for coming and reading to us. We celebrated the Lunar New Year with a delicious snack of sushi rolls and pho prepared by Andy, Annie, and Francis. We also enjoyed tourtière for Festival du Voyageur, made with care by DJ and the Sabes.
Looking ahead, we are excited about the upcoming warmer weather, new growth, and engaging community activities. We plan to begin outdoor gardening as soon as conditions permit. Indoors, we will start planting and caring for seedlings as we prepare for a successful growing season. This month, we will be focusing on nutrition and healthy living, building independence, and exploring energy, growth, and mindful choices as children transition from winter to spring. Through hands-on projects, simple experiments, and group challenges, we will support children’s physical, social, and emotional development. These skills help prepare them for school success and everyday life.
Throughout the month, we will also explore a variety of cultural and global celebrations to help children develop an appreciation for diversity and community. We will recognize International Women’s Day and the important contributions of women and caregivers. Children will experience the joy and colors of Holi, learn about Irish traditions through St. Patrick’s Day activities, and be introduced to Nowruz (Persian New Year), a celebration of spring, renewal, and new beginnings. We will also focus on caring for our environment through learning connected to World Water Day and Earth Hour, encouraging simple habits such as saving water, conserving energy, and protecting our planet.
We look forward to a healthy, active, and meaningful month full of learning, exploration, and fun. Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
