During outdoor play, the Eagles stayed active and creative. The children expressed their creativity through puffy painting, where they explored different textures, colours, and artistic techniques. This activity supported their fine motor development and allowed them to experiment with self-expression in a fun and hands-on way. We went on a community walk to Safeway, which gave us an opportunity to practice road safety, observe their surroundings, and build awareness of their neighborhood. This type of outing also encouraged social interaction and communication as the children talked about what they saw along the way. Physical play was a big part of their time outdoors. They played hockey together, which helped develop their coordination, balance, and teamwork skills. Building castles in the snow encouraged problem-solving, collaboration, and imaginative thinking as they worked together to create structures.
Inside the environment we also explored cooking and baking by making mango pulp, gluten-free green muffins (banana, spinach, gluten-free flour, Wow Butter, honey, and chocolate chips), and coconut balls. These experiences supported sensory exploration, fine motor skills, and early math concepts such as measuring and counting. The children also learned about following steps, teamwork, and how ingredients change during cooking. Overall, these activities helped build independence, confidence, and a positive connection to food.
