May was a month full of moments filled with celebration, creativity, and connection. We honored the special caregivers in our children’s lives for Mother’s Day, hand crafting heartfelt gifts - our Bears’ artistic way of expressing hugs, kisses and a dress they designed.

We’re also happy to have our Daycare Mom back! We really missed Hazel and we were so happy to end May with unforgettable moments with her. We also celebrated E.C.E. Week, take time to appreciate the incredible educators who nurture, guide, and inspire our little learners every day.

Our creativity continued to bloom through painting, drawing, and hands-on art projects that encouraged imagination and self‑expression. And with the warmer weather finally here, we were able to enjoy community walks, explore nearby parks, and spend more time outdoors discovering the world beyond our enviorment.

June is here and we want it to be a wonderful mix of celebrations that help us learn more about nature, our spiritual connection with it, and the diverse communities that make up our world. We’ll begin with World Environment Day by exploring how we can care for the Earth through nature walks, outdoor observations, and eco‑friendly and sustatinable art using natural materials.

Speaking of spirituality and diversity, we’ll be reading inclusive stories and celebrating kindness, identity, and belonging throughout Pride Month. We’ll also recognize Juneteenth with activities that highlight themes of freedom, resilience, and joy through music, movement, and storytelling.

We can’t forget about Father’s Day. We will make sure to create thoughtful gifts to honor the fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and father‑figures who support them.

On National Indigenous Peoples Day, we’ll explore Indigenous stories, songs, and teachings that help children appreciate the deep history and cultures of the First Peoples of this land. And as we welcome the Summer Solstice, we’ll enjoy the longest day of the year with extra outdoor play, sunlight exploration, and warm‑weather activities.

We’ll end the month by celebrating Canadian Multiculturalism Day exploring traditions, music, and art from different cultures and recognizing the beautiful diversity within our centre.

We’re excited about what culture we are representing for our own Folklarama. We can’t wait to see how the children explore different cultures, their food, stories, flags, dresses, and how they will express it through arts and crafts as we decorate our enviorment.

Friendly Reminder

A friendly reminder for families:

To keep our centre safe, we encourage everyone to wash their hands every time we enter our environment.
Please make sure your child has summer outdoor gear (sunhat, sunscreen, extra clothes, muddy buddy) so they can fully enjoy our outdoor activities.
Bring home water bottles and lunch containers every Friday for a good wash, and return them on Monday.
Label all belongings—clothes, shoes, hats, lunchboxes—to help us keep everything organized and in the right cubbies.
