September gave us a chance to say goodbye to summer and hello to fall. As the leaves, the colours and the temperature all change, it provides even greater learning outdoor experiences for the children.

In September we celebrated the Jewish New Year with dipping apples in honey (honey flavoured syrup) for a sweet new year! We also celebrated Amanpreet’s birthday. Aman has been such a wonderful addition to the Bear Den family we are so lucky to have her! 

The Bears have been showing interest in animals, babies, cleaning and climbing. We brought in new dolls with diapers and blankets for the children to further explore. “Shh shh”- Margot says as she’s putting the babies to sleep next to her at nap time. We guide the children how to use brooms,  washcloths, and water spray bottles while also using soap and water for water play to wash toys to enhance their interest for Cleaning. In Bear Den we welcome risk play and make sure the child feel safe with support of an educator. Obstacle courses, tree climbing, getting themselves in the wagon safely are different ways we promote safe risk play, and it develops their gross motor skills.

Thank you to Téo’s family for baking the educators lovely lemon cookies. They were delicious!!

We are all so excited for spooky October and we can’t wait for fun spirit weeks, bake sales, costume parties, fall foraging, spooky arts, and crafts and pumpkin painting!! 

As the weather changes please ensure your child has a jacket and hat for the chilly days ahead. 

Friendly Reminders:

• Water bottles and milk bottles go home after Friday.

• Label all belongings to help us keep everything organized.

• Please replace your child’s clothes from dirty wet bag to a set of new clothes for the following day.

• Keep an eye out for updates about our Bake Sale later this month!

We are so proud of how much our Bears are growing and changing just like the seasons- exploring nature, expressing creativity, and sharing kindness with one another.
