Dear Turtle Families,
What an eventful June! The Summer season is finally here, and the Turtles loved the warm weather and experimenting outside. We were so happy to see all the flowers, mud, and insects/birds! Before we welcome July, the Turtles did lots of fun activities in June such as water and mud sensory play, the Splash Pad, and making our Father’s Day gift!
In June, we celebrated Pride Month! Splash LC had a Pride Parade in Osborne Village in honour of Pride Month. Wagons were decorated with rainbow streamers and scarves, and even posters too! The Turtles enjoyed saying hello to all the community people passing by!!
The Turtles were very interested in water play and mixing mud with water, and of course they had a blast at the Splash Pad. We brought a bin and water toys to allow calming water play for the children as well. Though we enjoyed the sunny weather, the Turtles also loved the big puddles on sidewalks too.
This upcoming July, we look forward to Urban Forest School, where we spend all day outside! We are excited to spend time exploring in nature, and creating art and new activities with the natural materials around us. A reminder that we will continue to update our board with our latest activities!
This month, we celebrate our Turtles’ birthday: Hudson. We hope to have a birthday party and farewell party. We hope he has the best birthday, and we wish him the very best in his future endeavours!! Turtle Pond will miss you! We also can't wait for your Stepping Stone Ceremony going up to Wolf Den!
We would like to say a big thank you to our Turtle Pond families for all the patience and cooperation! We are excited for the upcoming month and season ahead, and all the fun activities and events planned!
Turtles would also like to thank our Turtle parent: Tamara for gifting us a box of wooden butterflies! We are excited to plan some fun projects with them in the future! Thank you again 🦋
Love,
Turtle Pond Educators 🐢
