Goodbye January — thank you for the memories and learning moments. Hello February! We look forward to a month filled with kindness, creativity, and continued growth with our children.
We are excited to welcome Zara and Ewan to the Beavers family! We are so happy to have them with us.
In February, we will be hosting a variety of exciting activities. Due to the cold weather, we will be increasing the frequency of indoor activities.
Our first highlight is the “I Love to Read” reading season. Throughout February, we will set up a mini library in our classrooms and invite members of the community to visit our daycare to enjoy joyful reading time with the children.
Our second major highlight is the celebration of the Asian traditional festival, Lunar New Year. We will carry out a series of cultural activities that allow children to experience the joy of the New Year while embracing and celebrating cultural diversity.
In addition, we will continue with our regular indoor activities such as water play, sand play, and sensory play. Weather permitting, we will also enjoy outdoor activities including snow sliding, building snowmen, and community exploring.
In January, we celebrated Kai’s last day in Beavers and wished him all the very best as he begins his journey at his new daycare.
January was also a special month as we celebrated our educators’ birthdays—thank you for all that you do every day.
We had so much fun participating in the Winter Challenge, and everyone did an amazing job!
We also enjoyed a great visit with Smile Plus.
In the middle of the month, we held a dance party, and both our preschoolers and ULC children joined us. It was a big and joyful DJ party, and everyone had an amazing time dancing and having fun!
On January 23rd, we welcomed a visit from Prairie Wildlife. Together with our preschoolers, we learned fun facts about crows and rabbits, and we even got to see a real crow and an adorable rabbit up close. The children were so excited that they happily imitated the crow’s calls, shouting “Ah! Ah! Ah!”
In addition, we enjoyed many indoor activities such as a volcano experiment and a sticky rice exploration.
It has truly been a month full of happy memories, and we believe even more exciting moments are waiting for us in February!
