Yum, yum, yum
As June comes to an end, we are grateful for the memories, lessons, and blessings it brought. Some days were easy, some were challenging, but every day helped us learn, grow, and create meaningful experiences together. Welcome, July! May this new month bring happiness, good health, peace, new opportunities, and countless reasons to smile. May our hearts be filled with gratitude and our days with joy. We are very excited to Welcome Llewyn to the Beaver Dam! We hope you feel welcomed and supported throughout the journey!
What we did last month . . . Ā āļø
June was a busy month filled with excitement! We enjoyed our visit to Fort Rouge Park and had lots of fun at the Splash Pad, creating wonderful memories together. We also enjoyed exploring the Legislature and learning more about our community. We visited many local shops around Osborne such as, Small Mercies, Vita Health, Crumb Queen, and Dollarama. Beavers loved seeing our community and learning about the importance of friendship. This month, we celebrated Ellie's birthday, which brought lots of joy and excitement. The children had a great time participating in sensory and art activities that encouraged creativity, exploration, and learning. We hope to contuine our artistic journey. We also had a wonderful time creating special Fatherās Day gifts for their dads and father figures. We hope you had a wonderful Father's Day! It was a month full of fun, growth, creativity, and memorable experiences for everyone.
What we will be doing this month . . . āļø
In July,Ā with exciting adventures for the Beavers! Weāll focus on building motor skills, imaginative play, and outdoor exploration through Forest. The children will dig, build, discover, and create in our natural environment. Weāll guide them through risk-aware play, plant and insect identification, and collaborative team activities. The Beavers will also participate in exciting art projects, including leaf prints, rock painting, bubble art, and garden journals. Painting with natural foraged flowers, Water painting, and more! We canāt wait to see what they create! Weāre also looking forward to a special summer picnic outing to a local park, where weāll enjoy lunch together and spend time exploring the outdoors. Keep an eye out for the announcement coming soon!Ā
Our Forest school will run two separate weeks. (See our calendar on our parent board) We will have one week of Urban Forest school in July and another week in August. Children will build forts, identify birds and plants, and practice outdoor skills in nature. We look forward to seeing their confidence and independence grow with each. If you have any questions please feel free to speak to any of the Beaver Educators.Ā
If you would like to apply sunscreen to your child before drop-off (optional) and pack a sun hat. Sunscreen will be reapplied throughout the day. If your child does not come with a sun hat you will have to go and get one from home as we are starting to spend more time out in the sun.Ā
Ensure your child wears closed-toe outdoor shoes or rain boots every day, a tip: Check Weather Canada app or check the Weather daily. For safety reasons, please avoid Crocs and sandals.
Please clearly label all of your childās belongings, including clothing, water bottles, hats, and personal items. This helps ensure items are returned to their owners and keeps children comfortable throughout the day. If you don't have label, we do have a mabels label fundraiser on our "Fundraisers" page.Ā
Please pack A LITTER-LESS and NON HEAT UP LUNCH as we are planning on having lunch outside during the month of July for our Urban Forest School and for community picnics we have planned.
Thank you to all our Beaver families for your continued support, kindness, and partnership. We truly appreciate being part of your childās learning journey. Have a wonderful summer! āļøš»š
