Three-Act Math
This structure was created by Dan Meyer. A three-act task is a specific structure that piques student interest with a video of a situation, allows the teacher to get students working on math, and then reveals the answer in a follow-up video. The structure can allow for learners at different levels to enter into the conversation (low floor/high ceiling) as well as allowing students multiple different paths to solving the answer.
