SPRINGFIELD PLATTEVIEW COMMUNITY SCHOOLS 2022-2023

AUGUST 2022

A Note From Your Superintendent

Dear Springfield Platteview Community,

We hope your kids are enjoying the school year so far. It's just 11 days in and already we have a day off on Monday. Take this time to enjoy the long weekend! As I said before, I am thrilled to see students back in our buildings. Students and teachers are working hard and becoming acclimated to their new schedules. It is always an adjustment period, especially with a new school building. Thank you for your understanding and patience during this busy and exciting time at SPCS.

Last week you should have received an email from the central office explaining in more detail how we plan to notify our community this year. Please let us know if you DID NOT receive an email from spcscomm@spcsne.org in your inbox. Below are a few important highlights (and reminders) from that email.

Regular updates from the central office will be communicated through the following means:

Please join us for the Grand Opening Celebration on Friday, September 30! See the invite below.

We know you have likely been given a lot of information from your child's schools, so we wanted to reiterate a few of the important points listed above. The back-to-school transition is not just an adjustment period for our kids, but for parents and staff as well. Please free to reach out if you need anything. We are here to help! The Springfield Platteview Community is a special place. Thank you for your contribution to that! We're happy to be a part of it all!

I hope to see many of you at the Homecoming festivities in September. it's going to be a great week!

Best Regards,

Ryan Saunders, Ed. D.

Superintendent

Hausmann Construction dropped off bags for our Platteview High School and Platteview Central Junior High students. The bags are filled with tools for the kids: tape measures, rulers, safety gloves, and more. Thank you to GROW SARPY for helping to make this happen again this year. We appreciate the support.

Liberty Packaging Omaha generously donated around 200 backpacks and tons of school supplies to our schools. They even put personalized notes of encouragement in each bag! We do have some left at the central office. Contact Nichole Baugh at nbaugh@spcsne.org to arrange a time to pick up items!

We have 14 new teachers (one student teacher) throughout our school district this school year! See the Springfield Platteview Community Schools' Facebook page for more features on new and current SPCS staff members. Platteview Central did a nice job capturing their staff on the first day of school!
