The Future of Higher Education

Course Title: The Future of Higher Education

Course Description: Everyone likes to prognosticate what universities will be like in the future, but few people study and use emerging data to more accurately estimate the future of higher education. In this class, we will be reading and discussing the major trends currently impacting universities and how scholars believe these changes will alter the current landscape of higher education over the next decade. Participants will be provided relevant and relatable articles to read each week related to the topic that week. Likely topics include: the impact of AI, redefining student success to job placement and salary, exploring new sources of revenue, identifying areas that may need to go away, and reimagining credentialing (degrees, certificates, etc.).
