Message from Andrea

Welcome to St James the Apostle Primary School. St James is a Catholic Primary School that embraces the history of the Parish community. As a school community we are excited to be working with you over the next seven years of your child’s education.

This handbook outlines some of our policies and procedures to ensure that appropriate steps are taken for any foreseeable situation so as to provide the optimum level of duty of care for all at St James. Having said that staff are also available to clarify understandings to ensure families feel comfortable within the school.

There will be many opportunities over the years for you to be involved in your child’s life at St James. A number of these events are, the Beginning of Year Mass, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and St James Day. The sacraments also have a strong emphasis within the school and through the Parish.

All families are invited to be part of regular faith workshops, held throughout the year.

We are all learners at St James and this is evident in the ongoing Professional Learning done by all staff.

This learning is often done after school at Professional Learning Community meetings and Staff meetings. The learning is to enable staff to provide the best opportunities for the children in their care.

Thank you for your trust and the opportunity to develop a partnership that will provide the best outcome for your child.
