Copilot is an advanced AI companion designed to help you with a wide range of tasks, from answering questions to generating content and more. Using Copilot can save you time, enhance your productivity, and provide you with information quickly.
You can access Copilot from any major web browser, including Chrome, Safari, or Microsoft Edge.
Go to https://copilot.microsoft.com/ to begin using this tool. You must be logged in with your Fisher network account in order to ensure the data you enter into Copilot is protected under Fisher licensing.
After you have logged in, you will see the main dashboard, you can access various features such as text input, voice input, and file uploads.
The Chrome/Safari web browser user experience when using Copilot provides:
Larger viewing area - larger space for interacting with content.
Enhanced navigation - easily navigate between multiple tabs and windows.
Focused work environment - help minimize distractions by allowing you to focus on one task at a time.
The Sidebar/Chart Copilot Experience:
Available when using the Edge browser only.
Quick interactions - short, simple tasks, the sidebar is often more efficient, as it reduces the need to switch contexts or open new windows.
Convenient - the sidebar/chat is always accessible, allowing you to quickly as questions and get assistance, or perform tasks.
Multitasking - the sidebar format is ideal as it lets you keep your main work area open while still interacting with Copilot. Allows you to ask questions regarding web content.
By leveraging the Add an image icon, you can enhance your interactions with Copilot, making your tasks more efficient and visually engaging.
Select your image - choose the image file you want to upload from your device.
Upload and Use - once uploaded you can ask Copilot with what you need.
Examples of Use Cases:
• Data Analysis: Upload a photo of a whiteboard with handwritten notes for Copilot to transcribe and analyze.
• Image Enhancement: Improve a low-resolution photo for use in a presentation.
• Content Creation: Use images to create visually appealing slides for a business presentation.
Click on the Add a file icon to upload documents into Copilot. This feature can help with tasks such as summarizing articles, analyzing data, and more. Simply select the file you want to upload, and Copilot will assist you with your specific needs. For example, you can upload a report for a quick summary or a dataset for detailed analysis.
Examples of Use Cases/prompts:
Summarize key points of a pdf document, extract headings and subheadings from a document, and find the main arguments presented in a report.
Create a chart based on the data in this spreadsheet, and summarize the data from an Excel file.
What information can be extracted from a file, and generate a report based on a file.
Click on the microphone icon and speak in a conversational tone instead of writing a prompt. Ensure you speak clearly and at a moderate pace. Use natural language, be specific with your instructions or questions, and allow a brief pause for processing. If there are any misunderstandings, feel free to rephrase or provide more context.
To use voice input:
Click on the microphone icon. Speak clearly into your device's microphone. Copilot will transcribe your speech into text and respond accordingly.
For Best Results - speak slowly and clearly. Ensure there is minimal background noise.
