What I did
In order to start the book, I first found a mentor who is an artist and talked with her about my project. I gave her a brief summary of what kind of story I wanted to do. I wanted to make a children's book that includes braille and texture so that the visually impaired children could read it. My mentor gave me explanations on how I should make a story board to explain the story with more detail.
What I learned
I learned that in order to make a book, there should be a story board with pictures with and words that go along, not just a mind map of my ideas. Since it is a children's book, words have to be easy and simple. I should also add words of expressions to make the story more engaging for children. For the pictures, it should be big so that I could add textures to it.
What I need to do next
I need to start making the story board. I need to decide what words I am going to use and the locations for each of the pictures and the words. Since I am making a book that includes textures and braille, I need to consider what materials I am going to use and where I am going to put braille so the story is understandable.
