Indications for Activation and Deactivation of ZCMC EQ-BCP
Indications for activation of the ZCMC EQ-BCP (Just one indicator is sufficient for activation):
Damage to a ZCMC building (at least Grade 2) needing evacuation of staff
Fire in a ZCMC building needing evacuation of staff
10 or more casualties (deaths and major injuries) in ZCMC*
30% or greater ZCMC office, division and department service incapacitation*
Presence of looting
[Grade 2 – moderate damage (slight structural damage, moderate non-structural damage). Cracks in many walls. Fall of fairly large pieces of plaster.]

Indications for deactivation of the ZCMC EQ-BCP (all indicators needed to be complied with before deactivation):
All staff / guests accounted for with no more search and rescue operations needed in ZCMC
Containment of building fires in ZCMC
ZCMC property secured from looting
ZCMC critical services restored if ZCMC is still usable / ZCMC critical services restored at other locations if ZCMC is totally evacuated
(Note: ZCMC EQ-BCP can be deactivated even if the management of external disaster is still not under control.)
