BBC. Learning English. How to... Although this website has been archived and is no longer updated, it is perhaps the most comprehensive functional language bank that can be found online free. There are seven main categories of functional language with several subcategories each, all of which include an audio programme in which the particular set of expressions and its uses are explained and exemplified; the programme's transcript, an outlined summary of the most important expressions and some practice activities at the end: a listening activity and a multiple choice quiz. Some programmes are aimed at lower levels and others at higher levels, depending on the set of expressions dealt with. British English. Levels A1-B2.
